1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
When you create an account or use signed-in features, we may collect:
- Account identifiers: email address (for email sign-up or when provided by Apple/Google), authentication provider (Apple, Google, or email), and an internal user ID assigned by our authentication service.
- Profile data: display name derived from your email or sign-in provider.
- Wallet contents: credit cards, memberships, airline status, tiers, and optional expiry dates you add to evaluate lounge access.
- Favorites: lounges you bookmark.
- Visit history: lounges you log as visited, including which wallet item you used (when you choose to log a visit).
- Recent airports: airports you have recently viewed in the App.
- Community contributions: lounge reviews, ratings, verification notes, issue reports, uploaded lounge photos, photo captions, content reports, and user block actions.
- Support communications: information you send when you contact us for help or feedback.
You may use parts of the App without an account (guest mode). In guest mode, we do not persist your wallet, favorites, or visit history to your account.
1.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the App, certain technical information may be processed:
- Device and app information: device type, operating system version, app version, and general diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the service.
- Usage necessary for the service: for example, which airports or lounges you request from our servers so we can show catalog data and sync your account state.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active membership, as reported by Apple and our subscription partner (see Section 4).
We do not use third-party advertising analytics or cross-app tracking frameworks in LoungeAdvisor.
1.3 Location information
LoungeAdvisor may request location permission to offer airport-related features, such as detecting when you are near a supported airport and surfacing a quick link to that airport's lounges.
- Location is used on your device for geofencing and related features.
- We do not sell location data.
- We do not maintain a continuous log of your location history on our servers for this feature.
- You can disable location access at any time in your device Settings → LoungeAdvisor → Location.
Opening Apple Maps or Google Maps from the App sends you to those third-party apps under their own privacy policies.
1.4 Information we do not collect
We do not intentionally collect:
- Government ID numbers
- Full payment card numbers (payments go through Apple)
- Precise home or work addresses
- Contacts from your address book
We do not require you to provide financial account numbers beyond what you voluntarily enter to represent cards or memberships in your wallet (e.g., card product names and programs, not full card numbers).
1.5 Community content and photos
If you choose to use community features, you may submit ratings, reviews, lounge verification notes, issue reports, photos, and captions. Approved reviews and photos may be visible to other LoungeAdvisor users with your display name or a generic traveler label. We may process reports, block actions, and moderation notes to remove abusive content, prevent spam, and enforce our Terms.
Do not upload photos that include private documents, payment cards, government IDs, or people who have not consented to appear.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use information we collect to:
- Provide the App: show airports, lounges, access rules, maps, and personalized access evaluation based on your wallet.
- Authenticate you: create and secure your account across devices.
- Sync your data: store favorites, wallet items, visits, and recents when you are signed in.
- Process memberships: verify subscription status for premium features.
- Moderate community features: review submitted content, process reports, filter prohibited content, and enforce user blocks.
- Improve reliability: troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
- Communicate with you: respond to support requests and send important service notices.
- Comply with law: meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your information for third-party behavioral advertising.
3. How We Store and Protect Data
3.1 Where data is stored
- Signed-in account data (wallet, favorites, visits, recents, profile) is stored in a cloud database hosted by our infrastructure provider (Supabase), in regions configured for the project.
- Community photos you submit are stored using Supabase Storage and linked to your account until removed, rejected, or your account is deleted, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth, which may use Apple, Google, or email/password flows.
- Some preferences may be cached locally on your device for performance and offline resilience.
- Subscription records are processed by RevenueCat and Apple; entitlement status is synced so the App can unlock member features.
3.2 Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the nature of the data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and authenticated API access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
3.3 Retention
We retain account-related data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
LoungeAdvisor relies on trusted service providers. They process data only as needed to perform services for us:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication, database, API, photo storage | supabase.com/privacy |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, App Store | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Google Sign-In (if enabled) | policies.google.com/privacy | |
| RevenueCat | Subscription and entitlement management | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Apple Maps / Google Maps | Optional directions (opened externally) | Respective provider policies |
We do not authorize these providers to use your personal information for their own marketing unrelated to providing services to LoungeAdvisor.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in these situations:
- Service providers: as described in Section 4, under contracts that limit use to providing services to us.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law.
- With your consent: when you direct us to share information.
- Community visibility: approved reviews, ratings, photos, and captions may be shown to other users as part of the App's community features.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export certain data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
In the App: use Settings → Sign out to end your session or Delete account to remove your LoungeAdvisor account and associated app data, including wallet data, favorites, visits, reviews, and uploaded community photos. App Store subscriptions must be managed separately through Apple ID settings.
Location: disable in iOS Settings at any time.
Marketing: we do not send third-party promotional emails based on in-app tracking. You may still receive transactional messages related to your account or purchases.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. EEA/UK users may have rights under GDPR. To exercise rights, email admin@petros.llc with the subject line "Privacy Request" and enough detail for us to verify your identity.
7. Children's Privacy
LoungeAdvisor is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact admin@petros.llc and we will take steps to delete it.
8. International Users
If you access LoungeAdvisor from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to transfer and processing as described in this policy, subject to applicable law.
9. Lounge and Airport Data
Catalog data (airports, lounges, access rules, hours, amenities) is compiled from public sources, partner data, and manual research. It is informational only and may be incomplete or outdated. LoungeAdvisor does not guarantee accuracy of third-party lounge policies, which can change without notice.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last updated date at the top. Material changes may be communicated through the App or by other reasonable means. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
